Louis Max, a Burgundy house founded in 1859 in Nuits-Saint-G - Lot 0
Louis Max, a Burgundy house founded in 1859 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, is opening its centuries-old cellars for this sale of wines from its private collection. Flasks bearing the enchanting names of Burgundy's finest appellations and climats, from Chablisien to Côte de Nuits.
In 1859, Evgueni-Louis Max emigrated from Georgia to set up a winery, first in Beaune, then in Nuits-Saint-Georges. After four generations of Louis Max, the company was taken over by the Subotic family, fascinated by Burgundy wines.
As art lovers, the Louis Max family decided to collaborate with renowned artists from all over the world. Thus, it was with great artistic intent that each label bearing the Louis Max name was designed by the talented French illustrator Pierre Le Tan, famous for his work for luxury brands such as Hermès and Coach, as well as having contributed to the prestigious pages of The New Yorker.
