RARE ET BELLE JARRE GUAN AVEC CINQ BOUCHES ET DÉCORÉE DE DRA - Lot 194
A central double-rimmed mouth with a short neck extends from the top, surrounded by four more mouths evenly spaced about the shoulder. Three types of dragons or composite monstrous creatures are depicted running or flying amidst stylized clouds. Also painted are lotus petals around the central neck and cloud-like hooked forms around the four lower necks. Vertical Chinese characters and horizontal undulating lines were engraved into the clay prior to firing. Lime accretions from burial adhere to the lower portion. Th
